Abstract
The opening ceremony of the “Greater Bay Area Urban Design Awards 2022 Exhibition” took place at Kent Wong Gallery in the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), on September 28, 2023. This event was hosted by CURB – Center for Architecture and Urbanism with the support of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the USJ.
The exhibition aims to showcase the award-winning works from the 2022 Competition and bring awareness about the importance of urban design in the Greater Bay Area Cities.
The opening event started with an overview by Prof. Nuno Soares, President of CURB and Head of the Department of Architecture and Design of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at USJ. It was followed by an opening address by Mr. Barry Wilson, President of the Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design, who introduced the exhibition by starting the discussion with the topic: What is urban design?
