Abstract
As a highly developed city, Macau produces a large amount of solid waste every day, and its effective management and recycling has become particularly critical. The solid waste recovery rate in Macao has not been satisfactory and Macao is facing significant challenges in achieving its waste resource recovery targets. In addition, despite the implementation of a number of policies and activities by the Macao government to raise public awareness of environmental protection, there is still a lack of public participation in environmental protection behaviors. The study will explore how virtual reality technology can be integrated as an innovative tool into the environmental education system of Macao in order to achieve better education and environmental protection outcomes. A prototype usability test will be conducted to demonstrate the usefulness of virtual reality scenarios for environmental education.
