Abstract
We report here geochemical and Sr–Nd whole-rock isotopic data for the Macau granites. The data suggests that Macau I-type granites were the result of a complex magmatic evolution involving fractional crystallization and late-stage fluid-melt interactions. A preliminary Rb-Sr isochron yields an age of ~160 Ma for Macau granites, which is consistent with those obtained for I-type Jurassic granites in surrounding areas. Having 87Sr/86Sri = 0.7081–0.7201, εNdt = -10.30 to -6.39 and T2DM =1.47–1.78 Ga, these granites were probably derived from Paleoproterozoic to Mesoproterozoic crustal protolith(s) with minor addition of mantle-derived magmas.
