The Relationship Between Psychological Needs and Mental Well-Being Among Celebrities in Hong Kong and Macau: Resilience and Perceived Organizational Support as the Mediator

Abstract
Present research is to investigate the relationship between intrinsic work motivation, occupational self-efficacy and mental well-being of celebrities in Hong Kong and Macau, examine whether resilience and perceived organizational support mediate the relationship. The target respondents consist of celebrities including singer, actor, YouTuber and Instagram creator who are working in Hong Kong and Macau. In present research, self-determination theory was adopted to interpret the relationship of the variables, an online self-response questionnaire was conducted as a quantitative research. For the data collection (N=105) occupational-self-efficacy found to be correlated with mental well-being but intrinsic work-motivation was found that no relationship with mental well-being, resilience and perceived organizational support mediate the relationship between intrinsic work motivation and mental well-being, perceived organizational support partial mediate the relationship between occupational self-efficacy and mental well-being, however, resilience did not have mediate effect on it. Further researches can be better understood the difference of occupational self-efficacy between the occupation of celebrity and other occupations.
