At that time, people normally cultivated theatre talents in local drama organizations and drama clubs of local schools. Until the establishment of The School of Theatre at the Macao Conservatory in 1989, which is the only government official unit for cultivating drama talents in Macau. Its establishment represents the official's subjective attitude on the development of theatre talents in Macau. It has a symbolic status and influence on the popularization of drama culture and the development of professional theatre talents in Macao.
