Technological advancements could help the elderly to live independently, specifically designed to support them in remain living in the community and alleviate the pressures on their caregivers. Understanding their perceptions of using the Gerontechnology and through the service planning might help to alleviate the aforementioned problem, support the target group to stay healthy. This study adopts a qualitative approach, and 25 individual interviews were undertaken. The finding reflects that even though most of the elderly do not understand what Gerontechnology is, they will use it. The perception of the technology for them is convenience, advantage, and esoteric. The Positive attitudes were related to convenience and advancement. The negative attitudes toward technology were related to a lack of cognition and feeling unsafe. The reasons for a user to accommodate the Gerontechnology are: they believe in advancing the quality of life, making activities more accessible and faster, useful, safe, social influences, and owing to the support from facilitators. However, the reason for not using it relates to health conditions (worsening in cognition, pooring in physical condition due to ageing) and their self-skill in using the technology. Furthermore, the participants tend not to use Gerontechnology are — the concerns about expenses, complexity, and safety. Other environmental barriers include limited exposure to technology, their children factors, lack of free Wi-Fi, and the consciousness of living in a non-safety environment. This study tries to provide a solution to the government, industries, NGOs, etc., with a direction to promote the development of Gerontechnology development, to enhance the quality of life of the elderly. 日趨嚴峻老齡化,龐大的醫療照護的開支和照顧人力短缺都是問題,因此如何提高長者生活品質,使能有尊嚴地生活是世界各地近年所關注的重要議題。是次研究目的是探討澳門長者對樂齡科技的感知和使用動機,基於回應老年群體的需求,透過服務規劃,促進樂齡科技的應用有助舒緩日趨嚴峻的老齡化問題,得到更好的支援。 本研究採用質性研究方法,進行了25次個別的深度訪談。研究結果表明,大多數長者對樂齡科技並不了解,但都會使用,認為科技是便利的、先進的、太高深及不安全。長者對樂齡科技的態度都是積極的,能提升生活品質,是進步的趨勢及渴望能了解更多科技;長者也表達負面態度,主要是長者對科技感 到不安、及對樂齡科技認知不足。 長者使用樂齡科技的原因是對科技積極的態度、科技能提升生活品質及科技的有用性、易用性及安全性、社會帶來的壓力及得到別人的幫助和鼓勵為主。不使用原因包括身體認知功能轉差、對自身使用能力的關注;科技產品或服務成本高、操作複雜及不安全性;環境障礙是對科技產品未有接觸、子女因素、缺乏免費上網環境及身處環境不安全等均限制了其使用。本澳目前有關樂齡科技及應用情況的研究不足,故本研究有助未來相關持分者能夠更清楚地了解影響長者使用及不使用樂齡科技的主要因素,社會上各持份者就推動樂齡科技有更準確的方向,從而提升長者的生活質量。zhUniversity of Saint JosephThesis and Dissertations Master of Social Work (MSW)澳門長者對樂齡科技的感知及應用動機研究Elderly's Perception and Motivation for the Application of Gerontechnology in MacauMaster Thesis
