Classroom Interior Design and Creativity: The Contribution of Multifunctional Furniture for Higher Education Institutions in Macau

Creativity is the most critical part of thinking in human life. Educational creativity can lead students to explore new knowledge from a theoretical framework. The industry's creativity is the gear of a developed society. Nowadays, employers pay more attention to the personal creativity of employees because of the success of innovation industries. And educators also change the program to improve students' creative thinking to prepare for future work.
Creativity isn't something that comes naturally to everyone. However, If it's something that doesn't come easily, is it impossible to be creative? As a result of creativity research, human emotion is an essential factor of creativity, and people are actively facing problems in a positive mindset. In addition to affecting emotions by human factors, the physical environment profoundly influences the research of psychogeography. Nowadays, some iconic creative industries and schools designed innovative spaces to enhance creativity. However, not all schools can build innovative spaces for creative education. Innovative interior design requires a high amount of spending and land. Although the school cannot provide the whole innovative space, furniture is the most flexible and vital object in the classroom. The purpose of this study is to explore innovative interior design that contributes to education. The study seeks to answer the research question, How does unusual furniture contribute to the creativity and interior design of the higher education institution (H.E.I.) in Macau? The research analyzed the interior design of booming industries and innovation schools and studied the influence factors of creativity. It aims to design new school furniture to enhance student creativity and also ensure flexibility and optimization of interior arrangement through the successful elements of innovative interior design.
