Abstract
This study investigates the user experience in a role-playing game (RPG), focusing on enhancing user engagement and satisfaction through simplified interface design, innovative approaches, and customisable features. By examining key principles and best practices in game interface design, the study provides valuable insights into the development of the "High Tower" Dungeon Crawl RPG subgenre. The research addresses significant challenges designers and developers face in creating immersive experiences, particularly those with limited game design expertise. Through a detailed case study of "High Tower," the study demonstrates how a comprehensive, player-centred approach can significantly improve both the quality and enjoyment of the game. This method not only aligns with evolving player expectations but also contributes to advancements in the game design industry.
